Nights of a Thousand Candles

Lots of summer beach goers head to Murrell's Inlet to get away from the crowds. Now that the holiday season is here consider visiting the inlet for Brookgreen Gardens' "Nights of a Thousand Candles." It's a bit of a hike -- 35 minutes south of the Sun N Sand resort -- but trust us, it's well worth the drive. In fact, the Nights of a Thousand Candles has become such a popular attraction that they've also started selling tickets in advance. So, what will you find at the Gardens? You'll find an 80 foot Douglas Fir illuminated with 70,00 lights, and you'll be enchanted by the glow of 5,500 hand-lit candles. You'll hear the chimes of hand bells and the familiar sounds of your favorite carols. In Anne's Garden, there's an outdoor glass sculpture exhibit replete with hand-blown glass flowers and trees. Those looking to soak in the Christmas cheer couldn't ask for anything more.
