Believe It or Not, An Aquarium

The Myrtle Beach Sun and Sand Resort is the perfect place to be if you want to spend a relaxing day lounging by the pool or ocean. But if you to start to wonder what exactly swims beneath those gently lapping waves, we suggest you head over to Ripley’s Aquarium, where there’s enough in-house aquatic life to keep you exploring for hours. Stroll through the 340-foot Dangerous Reef exhibit and come face-to-face with giant stingrays, menacing leopard sharks, and placid sea turtles. In the Living Gallery, you’ll meet the giant Pacific octopus (and with a 13-foot arm-span, we do mean giant). The Amazon exhibit is filled with ominous little creatures like poison-dart frogs and piranhas, whereas Rainbow Rock offers some levity, with its brightly-colored clownfish and angelfish. Special hands-on displays allow children to touch skates and rays and even hold a horseshoe crab. And when you’re tired of walking, you can have a seat and enjoy one of the many live shows presented each day.
